Locally – right in the backyard of Koch’s headquarters in Wichita, Kansas – the Fred and Mary Koch Foundation supports organizations like the Gilder Lehrman Institute and the Bill of Rights Institute. Both of these organizations host educational seminars geared toward teachers throughout the calendar year.

His paintings are hyper-realistic. The story behind this Wichitan's stunning work
Ernest Vincent Wood III’s award-winning oil painting, “Hope,” draws attention at Mark Arts, where it’s currently on display as part of the gallery’s Oil Painting National Invitational. The painting depicts a nude man set against a plain background, gazing upward while surrounded by a live dove and origami doves. The man is giving a traditional gesture of blessing, as seen in iconography. The piece, painted earlier this year, won second-place honors at the Mark Arts exhibition, which was underwritten by the Fred and Mary Koch Foundation.

$300,000 in new Koch scholarships awarded by WSU's Honors College

Grants Inspire Study
A mini-grant from the Fred C. and Mary R. Koch Foundation enabled students at Wichita High School North to take their course work into the field for hands-on learning. Mini-grants, which are to be used for a specific purpose, broaden students’ learning experiences and support classroom projects.
